Meet Anne Brooks MacDonald
Anne Brooks is an author, publishing professional, book coach, and founder of Brooks StoryHouse. After publishing her debut novel, A Lost Woman, in 2019, Anne built a career helping other writers navigate the path from idea to published book.
Her publishing experience includes serving as Associate Editor and Acquisitions Director at Indigo River Publishing. She currently works in acquisitions, author development, and production at Morgan James Publishing., where she serves as a Production Manager. Throughout her career, she has worked with first-time authors as well as New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors, giving her experience across nearly every stage of the publishing process.
Anne is also a featured speaker and panelist at writing and publishing events. In 2024, she launched the Debut Writers Podcast to give aspiring authors greater access to the people, knowledge, and conversations behind the publishing industry.
She also sits on the board of the Emerald Coast Writers Association and the Books by the Bay Festival.
In 2026, Anne founded and launched Brooks Storyhouse, bringing her years of publishing experience under one roof to provide authors with book coaching, editing, ghostwriting, manuscript development, querying, and publishing guidance.
Her mission is simple: Helping writers take their stories further.
